Description
Administrative records, articles, bibliographies, clippings, correspondence, meeting notes, photographs, and project proposals, 1975-2008, primarily documenting Teresa DeCrescenzo's social work on behalf of at-risk lesbian and gay teenagers. Decrescenzo served as the president of the board of directors at the Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center and started Gay and Lesbian Adolescent Social Services (GLASS) in West Hollwyood for at-risk lesbian and gay teenagers.
Background
In the early 1980s, Teresa DeCrescenzo worked as a social worker with the Los Angeles County Probation Department and served as the president of the board of directors at the Gay and Lesbian Community Services Center. In 1984, she quit her job with the county and started Gay and Lesbian Adolescent Social Services (GLASS) with a six-bed group home for at-risk lesbian and gay teens in West Hollywood. The organization closed operations in 2008. DeCrescenzo was a long-time partner of Betty Berzon.
