Scope and Content of Collection
The collection contains documentation of land owned by the Marsh family of Clayton in Contra Costa County, including a title
for the lands of Edwin Marsh that was prepared for a Mr. A. E. Matheson of San Francisco in 1906, a Declaration of Homestead
for Joshua Marsh dated 1873, a deed from Joshua and Estin Marsh to Susan Marsh dated 1869, and a certificate of redemption
for land sold by Joshua Marsh to the State of California for unpaid taxes, dated 1914. The collection also includes a copy
of a photograph of a little girl identified as Lillian Irene Bedbury, born February 9, 1901.
