Harold Lloyd was an American actor active in film from 1912 to 1947. After starring in short films as Lonesome Luke, he excelled as a silent screen comedian portraying an optimistic young man sporting trademark black horn-rimmed glasses. He was married to Mildred Davis from 1923 until her death in 1969. Lloyd received a 1952 Honorary Award from the Academy.
