    Scope and Content of Collection

Correspondence, clippings, and photographs pertaining to Allan C. Balch. There are two files of correspondence. One with Gaston Brooke, 1929-38, in which Balch and Brooke discuss Balch's Rolls Royce being stored in France. The other file of correspondence is with art dealers, 1920-31, most of whom are attempting to sell artwork to Balch. The following material is also included with Balch's papers: photographic views of El Solyo Ranch, Vernalis, California; a notebook with descriptions, photos, floor plans, etc. of La Quinta Hotel in La Quinta, Calif.; and a reprint of "The Long Beach Earthquake" by W. M. Davis (1934).
