    Abstract: This is a discrete collection containing two boxes of miscellaneous materials that were collected by Charles Schermerhorn in relation to Carlos Almaraz and the Los Four. Almaraz was one of the members of Los Four, a group of influential artists in the Chicano Art Movement in Los Angeles. They broke into the mainstream art world with the first significant Chicano exhibition at the Los Angeles County Museum. Almaraz was well traveled and well received by collectors. He died in 1989 of AIDS at the age of 48.
