Biographical / Historical
Elizabeth (Jing) Lyman (wife of Richard Lyman, seventh president of Stanford University)
was active in community affairs, the Women's Resource Center, and other foundations.
Richard W. Lyman, who served as Stanford's seventh president from 1970 to 1980. During the
25 years he spent at Stanford he was a history professor, associate dean of the School of
Humanities and Sciences, provost, president, and founder and director of the center now
known as the Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies.
Scope and Contents
Primarily contains materials relating to Elizabeth (Jing) Lyman's activities in community
affairs, personal correspondence, and activities of both Elizabeth and Richard Lyman.
