This collection contains a letter and a photograph from Marie Hubly to PFC Samuel Beckenstein during the Second World War.
The following information was given by the donor: "The letter was sent to my uncle, Samuel Beckenstein. He served in the
Army during WW2 as PFC/specialist. I don't know how he met the letter writer[who was British], but he was known as quite a
ladies man (although the letter writer was married). Uncle Sam was Jewish, his parents, originally from Russia, emigrated
via the Pale of Settlement. He was awarded a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star."
