Scope and Contents

This collection contains 37 flyers and 1 sticker regarding the gay rock band, "Pansy Divison". Flyers are mostly related to benefit concerts and shows that the band played in venues across North America; as well as flyers promoting album releases.

Biographical / Historical

Pansy Division formed in 1991 in San Francisco, CA. as one of the first openly gay bands. Founded by guitarist/singer Jon Ginoli and bassist/vocalist Chris Freeman, Pansy Division's music is a mixture of pop and punk music that mainly focuses on LGBTQ issues; sex; and relationships. In 1993, the band were signed to Lookout! Records and toured with Green Day in 1994. As of 2022, they have released seven studio albums and have played close to 1,000 shows.
