The collection contains full sets of original (graphite on paper) architectural drawings for nine selected projects, designed
by R. Deming Issacson in the Central Coast area of California, between 1981 and 2000. Most of the designs are for private
residences. Also included are drawings for a tasting room at Buttonwood Farms Winery.

R. Deming Isaacson has practiced architecture in the Central Coast region of California for most of his career. In the late
1970s, Isaacson was a principal in the architectural firm of Rowland, Neumann and Isaacson. In 1980 he formed his one-man
office, R. Deming Isaacson, Architect.
His apprenticeship in the late 1960s and early 1970s was with William L. Pereira & Associates in Newport Beach, California;
Kevin Roche and John Dinkeloo in Hamden, Connecticut; Warner and Wilson in Santa Barbara; and Lutah M. Riggs, F.A.I.A., also
in Santa Barbara, California.
Isaacson received a Bachelor of Architecture from Arizona State University in 1968. He graduated from Midland School near
Los Olivos, California in 1961.
