    Abstract: Martin Van Horne (1944-1991) was active in the Richard Heakin Memorial Butterfly Brigade, a group of gay men and lesbians organized to stop violent attacks against gay people in San Francisco. His papers document some of the activities of the Butterfly Brigade, including their whistle campaign. The collection includes flyers, press releases, correspondence and the "Butterfly Brigade Bulletin."
