    Scope and Content of Collection

This collection contains 20 years of reel-to-reel audiotapes from several radio programs hosted and/or produced by David Lamble, including Fruit Punch (KPFA), Just Before Dawn (KCHU), Traffic Jam, A Closer Look (KQED) and KGO-FM. These programs covered the Milk/Moscone assassination, the White Night Riots, Gay/Lesbian Freedom Days in the late 1970s and 1980s, local film festivals, events in LGBT history, AIDS, Leftist politics, the Vatican, and Proposition 6. While these programs covered local and national news, much of the content pertains to local LGBT cultural productions. Contributors include Holly Near, Jon Sugar, Lea DeLaria, Blackberri, George Birisma, Tom Ammiano, Silvia Kohan, Bob Oakes, Dan Curzon, Steven Grossman, Spaulding Gray, and Johnny Nieto. Lamble’s research and scripts for his work as a reporter for KQED, Cal Net, and NPR are also included. Lamble’s original folders and titles have been retained. Manuscript materials are open for research; for information about reel-to-reel tapes, contact the managing archivist. GSSO linked terms: http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/GSSO_008525
