This collection contains a holograph notebook written in ink and pencil; author identified on label on cover: J. Edward Knowlton
of 80 East Concord St., Boston. Perhaps lecture or ward notes from a medical school or teaching hospital. Notations contain
recipes, diagnosis, treatment, and course for: poisons and poisonings; cholera; dry gangrene; progressive tissue changes;
tumors; carcinoma; pleurisy; anemia of the liver; syphilis; caustic alkalis; symptoms of arsenic poisoning and the stages
of death; and more. Earliest date based on citation of the Reinsch method to test for the presence of arsenic in a solution.
