Description
Photograph album containing 123 black and white photographic prints depicting agriculture and irrigation in the Sunset Colonies, Marysville, Gridley, Butte County, and Sutter County, California circa 1907-1908. The photographs included in the album show completed irrigation projects of the Butte County Canal Company, and also, images of weirs, flumes, ditches, and dams. Also contains photographs showing dairying, farming, and agricultural processing, such as fruit drying and canning, throughout Sacramento, Butte, and Sutter counties. Many photographs show local citizens and families; natural features within the counties; public and private buildings, including schools, a library, residences; and commercial buildings including a flour mill and a sub-station for the Northern Electric Railway.
