Abstract: Maud's was a lesbian bar in San Francisco that established a strong sense of lesbian community. McEvoy played on the bar's
softball team. The collection of Maud's related material includes photographs, clippings, programs, books, T-shirts, matchbooks,
awards, a trophy, and a framed sign.

Biography/Administrative History
Maud's was a lesbian bar owned by Rikki Streicher that operated from 1966-1989. The bar established a strong sense of lesbian
community. Claudia McEvoy played on the bar's softball team.
Scope and Content of Collection
The collection of Maud's related material includes photographs, clippings, programs, books, T-shirts, matchbooks, awards,
a trophy, and a framed "Gay-Ola" sign. There is information on the 20th anniversary celebration in 1986 that includes the
plans and detailed program notes for all aspects of the event. The booklet "Maud's: The First Twenty Years, 1966-1986" contains
additional photographs, notes and inscriptions from the party. The collection also includes "Liberated Space for the Women
of the Haight-Ashbury," issue 8, March 1975; and, obituaries for Rikki Streicher.
