Biographical / Historical

"Common Sense" was a newspaper that was founded by Conde McGinley in 1946. Originally titled "Think Weekly", McGinley changed the name to "Common Sense" in June 1947. The first issues focused on anti-communist topics, but later changed its focus to anti-semitism. "Common Sense" was issued semi-monthly and ran from June 1947-June 1972.
 

"Dan Smoot Report" January 5, 1959- December 21, 1959

Biographical / Historical

The "Dan Smoot Report" was a publication that mostly focused on anti-communism and was founded by Howard Drummond "Dan" Smoot, a former FBI agent and conservative political activist.

Biographical / Historical

This series contains magazine issues, reviews, and reprints published by the John Birch Society. Included are issues of the "John Birch Society Bulletin" and "American Opinion", as well as other publications. The John Birch Society was founded in Indianapolis, Indiana by Robert Welch Jr., a retired candy manufacturer in 1958. The Society, whose main purpose is to combat communism, was named after John Birch, an American Baptist missionary and United States Army Intelligence Officer who was killed by communist forces in China in August 1945.

Biographical / Historical

The "Moral Majority Report" was a magazine published by Moral Majority, a political organization founded by Baptist Minister Jerry Falwell in 1979. Moral Majority's main focus was to advance conservative social values through political and religious agendas.

Biographical / Historical

The "Phyllis Schlafly Report" is a publication that was founded by Phyllis Schlafly, a former lawyer and conservative political activist. Schlafly is best known for her antifeminist viewpoint and oppostion to the Equal Rights Amendment. The "Phyllis Schlafly Report", which is still in publication, focuses mostly on topics regarding family and traditional values.
