Background
Students for a Sustainable Stanford is an inclusive and intersectional community that strives for long-lasting sustainable
practices on and off the Stanford campus through discussion, engagement, and direct action. Since its founding in 2000, SSS
has grown and evolved into one of the most prominent environmentally-focused student groups on campus. SSS works on diverse
issues such as climate change, environmental justice, water, waste, and more, and pursue initiatives and outreach efforts
to build a more just and sustainable world. In 2010, SSS became an official student-led program of the Haas Center.
