Description
This collection contains five emails written by 1stSgt. Hal C. Stott, USA and Melissa Stott to each other and family during the Iraq War.
Background
First Sergeant Hal C. Stott, Utah National Guard (b. 8/12/1955) was born in Manti, Utah and graduated Manti High School in 1973 and attended Salt Lake Technical College for drafting before serving a mission to New Zealand for the Church of Latter Day Saints. He joined the Utah National Guard out of high school, along with his two older brothers. He and his wife Melissa had daughters before he was sent to serve with the 145th Field Artillery Unit in Iraq at 52 years old. He retired in 2009.
