History of St. Mary's College High School, and history of Peralta Park area of Berkeely, Calif.
Background
The school was founded in 1863 in San Francisco at the urging of then Archbishop Alemany. The school moved to Oakland in 1889,
and by 1927 had outgrown the site and moved to its present location in Berkeley in 1927.
