Administrative/Biographical History
Zitron was born on December 30, 1883 in Kiev, Russia; graduated from Novorossisky Univ. in 1908, later receiving his LLD;
attended University of Petrograd while practicing law in the office of Oscar Grusenberg; with his brother Alexander, wrote
two books about the history of the Russian Parliament, "Gossudarstvennaya Duma;" left Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution;
between 1920-42, studied international law at Berlin and Heidelberg and wrote for German newspapers before establishing an
office in Paris, where he worked as a writer and translator; fled France and moved to New York where he taught at the Berlitz
School and wrote for Russian and French language newspapers; taught Russian at the Navy School at the University of Colorado,
1944-45; beginning in 1946, taught Russian and French at the International School of Languages under the Veterans Administration.
Collection consists of manuscripts, appointment books, notebooks, notepads, correspondence, newspaper clippings, newspapers
in Russian, and telegrams.
