Abstract: The Chinese Association is a social, cultural, and community service-based student organization at the University of California, Irvine, founded in 1969. Their mission is to share Chinese and Chinese-American culture with the greater Orange County and Los Angeles area through a variety of weekly club meetings and events, as well as multiple large-scale annual events throughout the year. The collection comprises photographs and scrapbooks, ephemera, newsletters, event leaflets and fliers including three for the Chinese Association Martial Arts club, correspondence, a constitution, directory, schedules of events, Culture Night programs and fliers, grants, and announcements.

Acquisition Information

Transferred from the Cross Cultural Center, 2016-2017; accruals were collected from the Anteater Involvement Fair, 2012, and an unknown source, circa 2017. Materials separated from UCI Clubs and Organizations publications (PS-033) were added to the collection in 2020.
