Description
Collection consists of an account book which records in manuscript, on pre-printed forms (two per sheet) the dental patient's
name, procedure performed, amount charged, amount received on account, and balance due, for transactions numbered 10600-10899
at a St. Louis dentist's office from May, 1893 through August, 1893. The procedure "and extracting [blank line] Teeth" was
pre-printed on each form. Neither the name of the dentist who performed these procedures nor the printer who produced the
blank account book is found in the book. The outer edge of each leaf is perforated, suggesting that a patient's receipt was
completed and torn away for each transaction. The dentist's chief business was extracting partial or full, upper or lower,
sets of teeth, as many as 27.
