Description
A collection of correspondence, administrative and legal documents, publications, policy briefs, research reports, white papers, articles, and working papers created at the Tomás Rivera Policy Institute (TRPI). TRPI is a think tank promoting informed policy making on issues affecting Latino communities. The TRPI was founded in 1985 at Pitzer College in Claremont, California. In 2003, TRPI moved to the University of Southern California, first under the School of Policy, Planning, and Development and later under the USC Sol Price Center for Social Innovation. Aside from the correspondence, administrative documents, and publications, the collection also holds articles and subject files authored and/or compiled by Harry P. Pachon. Pachon was the director of the TRPI from 1993 to 2011. The TRPI relaunched in 2011 under the leadership of a new director, Roberto Suro. The TRPI maintains a digital research archive on their website that lists many of the publications in this collection. However, the archival collection described in this finding aid holds many reports for which there are no PDF copies available via the digital research archive. Topics covered in the TRPI research publications include economics, education, health, technology, media, politics, immigration, demographics, language, and community services.
