Scope and Contents

Collection consists of a form letter sent out by the Emergency Committee of Atomic Scientists, of which Einstein was the Chairman of the Trustees, to scientists. It asks for help in raising $1,000,000 for scientists to fulfill their "inescapable responsibility to carry to our fellow citizens an understanding of the simple facts of atomic energy and their implications for society."
