John Dapper (born 1923) was an American set designer and art director for film, television, and theater. He was married to
Lyman Hallowell.

Scope and Contents
This small collection contains set designs and related production files of American set designer and art director John Dapper
(born 1923). There are files for thirteen projects, chiefly films, dating from 1957 to 1984. Materials primarily consist of
set drawings as well as some production files including schedules and cast lists. There are three other miscellaneous items:
the Spring 1989 issue of
American Cinemeditor addressed to Dapper's husband, Lyman Hallowell; photocopies pages from a CBS Television Network plastic scenery catalog;
and a play by Michael Menaugh with the handwritten title: "For Andre Tchaikowsky / 'I laughed a lot' – Harold Hobson / A Farce
in One Act."
