    Biography/Administrative History

    Lawrence (1903-1987) was a reporter for the Hearst newspapers in the 1930s and served as advertising and publicity chief for Samuel Goldwyn. From 1939 to 1942 he was public relations director for the Motion Picture Producers Association. During World War II, he became Chief Public Relations Officer European Theater of Operations in the United States Army.
