C. A. Thayer (built 1895; schooner, 3m) Bills of Sale of Enrolled Vessel (SAFR 14030, HDC 36) consists of two documents titled Bill of Sale of Enrolled Vessel. Biographical / historical:

The C. A. Thayer (built 1895; schooner, 3m) is part of the historic ship collection at San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park. She was built in the Bendixsen yard in Fairhaven, California and measures 156' x 36' x 11.8', and is rated at 452 gross tons.

The C.A. Thayer had several careers: it carried lumber to 1912, was a salt and salmon packet to 1924, and was in the cod fishery to 1950, when it was the last commercially working sailing vessel on the west coast. The ship had a number of owners during this time: 1895-1912, E.K. Wood Lumber Co. (San Francisco); 1912-1925, Captain Peter Nelson (San Francisco); 1925-1952, Pacific Coast Codfishing (Seattle); 1952-1957, Charles Macneil (Seattle); 1957-1977, California State Parks; 1977- to the present, National Park Service (San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park).
