extends 1.25 linear feet holding 101 radio scripts for the radio show
The Whistler between 1945-1954.

Historical Note
The Whistler was an American radio mystery drama on the west-coast regional CBS radio network. The show was also broadcast in Chicago
and over Armed Forces Radio. The host of the show, known only as the Whistler, narrated tales which focused on crime and fate.
Film noir adaptations of the show were produced by Columbia pictures. The writer-producer of the show J. Donald Wilson was
ultimately proceeded by George Allen in 1944.
Acquisition Information
This collection forms part of the American Radio Archives (ARA), which documents the early history of broadcasting, with an
emphasis on California. The ARA was formerly housed at the Thousand Oaks Public Library and was owned and administered by
the Thousand Oaks Library Foundation. It was transferred to the UCSB Library in 2021.
