Abstract: Charles M. Hardin served as Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Davis from 1965-1976. The collection
contains correspondence related to research, published and unpublished, dealing with the U.S. Constitution and constitutional
reform politics. Also included are general subject files which contain materials on agricultural politics, including marketing,
price support, and production controls as administered by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service.

Biography/Administrative History
Charles M. Hardin (1908-1997) served as Professor of Political Science at the University of California, Davis from 1965-1976.
He was the author of Presidential Power and Accountability: Towards a New Constitution (1974).
Scope and Content of Collection
The collection contains correspondence related to research, published and unpublished, dealing with the U.S. Constitution
and constitutional reform politics. Also included are general subject files which contain materials on agricultural politics,
including marketing, price support, and production controls as administered by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation
