Klein also collected additional materials related to gay rights events from 1977-1979.

He moved to the Haight District in San Francisco and established a silk screen business called The Works. He was a member of a gay fathers group in the 1970s.

Scope and Contents

Moon Over Miami was a benefit event for the Miami Gay Support Committee which opposed Anita Bryant's "Save Our Children" campaign against homosexuals. The Moon Over Miami event included several entertainers with Armisted Maupin as the master of ceremonies. Maupin refers to the event in his Tales of the City installment which is clipped in the file. Klein was successful in this venture and was involved with additional fundraisers. There are programs for a Hollywood Bowl event "A Star Spangled Night For Rights," "A Little Rights Music," the Concerned Voters of California No on 6 dinner program, and the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Parade and Celebration.
