Biography/Administrative History

A Massachusetts native, Charles H. Sherman was long engaged in the carpet and furniture business in San Francisco, a half-brother to Leander S. Sherman. His residence near South Park was numbered 13 De Boom Street. George F. Bunker was born in Nantucket, and became a sea captain; after Bunker's death, his property passed to his wife Sarah.

Scope and Content of Collection

Indenture made November 26, 1861 between Charles H. Sherman, grantor, and George F. Bunker, grantee, to a parcel in 100 Vara lot 107, on De Boom Street. Pasted to verso is notary’s certificate and seal, with county recorder’s statement written across it.
