This collection is comprised of materials collected by the Tamalpais High School Alumni Association. These include photographs,
commencement programs and tickets, clippings, student award certificates, course bulletins, scrapbooks, and materials related
to planning the school’s 75th anniversary celebration. There are also patches, a school sweater, t-shirt, and a pennant.
Background
When Mill Valley’s population began to expand after many San Franciscans relocated to Marin County following the 1906 earthquake,
the need for a new high school in southern Marin was recognized. In July of 1906, the Tamalpais Union School District was
created, and two years later, Tamalpais High welcomed its first students. Over the years, the Alumni Association collected
various school materials.
