- Supplementary Egerton family papers (chiefly estate papers and accounts for the Brackley estate) may be found in the Northamptonshire Record Office.
- In the 19th century, when the Egerton family bequeathed manuscripts and funds to the British Museum, they accidentally included some family papers that were not intended to be part of the gift. (Why they were initially given or why they were not intended to be given is not clear.) These manuscripts were initially accepted by the British Museum and stamped in red with the British Museum stamp. Before cataloging, the error was discovered and the manuscripts were returned to the family. These manuscripts are now part of the Huntington's Egerton Family Papers. They are distinguishable by the red British Museum stamp.
