Historical Note

The Barbary Coast Boating Club is a Northern California gay and lesbian boating club for those interested in all aspects of on-water fun. The club was established in 1982 to provide a safe environment that would foster camaraderie, fun and the enjoyment of boating and other water activities in the company of gay men and lesbians. There are club members from all nine counties bordering San Francisco Bay and in many cities in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

Scope and Contents

The newsletter recounts the activities of the club and its members. It also includes minutes, treasurer's reports, by-laws and amendments, cruise captain's guidelines and etiquette.
There are some missing issues: vol. 12 (7) September 1993; vol. 12 (9) November 1993; vol 14 (4) April 1995; and vol. 14 (9) September 1995. Duplicate numbering: Vol. 13 (5) appears twice: for June and July 1994 issues.
