University
Archives Photograph Collection
consists of photographs, negatives, and slides from
the early 1950s through the early 2000s. This is an
artificial
collection,
created by assembling photographs from related collections. The images
document the history of California State University, Northridge, beginning with its
inception in 1954 to the present day. The majority of the collection depicts campus
buildings, academic activities, student activities, and employees of the college. There are
also a large number of photographs featuring the Northridge Earthquake, protests on campus,
and distinguished visitors to campus.

Copyright for unpublished materials authored or otherwise produced by the creator(s) of
this collection has been transferred to California State University, Northridge. Copyright
status for other materials is unknown. Transmission or reproduction of materials protected
by U.S. Copyright Law (Title 17, U.S.C.) beyond that allowed by fair use requires the
written permission of the copyright owners. Works not in the public domain cannot be
