Scope and Content of Collection
Reports were prepared for selected locomotives and rolling stock in the California State Railroad Museum collection outlining
significant historical information, specifications, component analysis and a record of the restoration process. These reports
were preliminary working documents, often compiled prior to the completion of restoration. They do not reflect the findings
of more recent research. Museum staff are continuing to assimilate information with the intention of publishing more complete
historical records for each locomotive and car in the collection.
The Research and Restoration Reports are listed by corporate name, then by road number and in chronological order. MS 621
contains original typescripts and photographs. A reference set is available for study in the Library.
