Project for Working Families has successfully worked with local unions and community groups on issues such as parental leave,
family leave, sick leave, flextime, and elder care.
The LPWF serves unions in the Northern California counties of San Francisco, San Mateo, Contra Costa and Alameda. Its founder,
Netsy Firestein, served as its Executive Director from 1992 to 2013.
