This collection contains one letter from Staff Sergeant Joseph P. Bayerl to his family. The letter discusses letter writing
and the homefront, including farming, as well as some of the food and beverage received while he was stationed in the South
Pacific. He was killed in action in New Guinea in June 10, 1944. The collection also contains newspaper clippings from his
obituary and from his funeral. It is unclear to which branch of service SSgt. Bayerl belonged.
