    Content Description

    This collection contains one scrapbook created by Mrs. Julia Long. Included are some materials pertaining to her husband, Joe Long who served during the Second World War. On the outside of the scrapbook is written in pen at the top, "Joe Long, U.S. Army Air Force, Mighty Eighth, WW2," and at the bottom, "Joe Long Collection."
    In the scrapbook are photographs of family, airplanes, Army Air Force units and airman, and reunions of those units. Also included are clippings, holiday cards, church service cards, postcards, and magazine clippings.
    The clippings include several pertaining to a time that Joe was held up at gun point outside of his all-night gas station in Northampton County, Pennsylvania, as well as one clipping in the Easton Express about two sailors, John Storm, Jr. and Albert A. Wood, Jr.
    The photos include three mug shots for Joe and other photographs that pertain to the 381st Bomb Group (H), which included the 532, 533, 432, 534, 535 squadrons (as shown on a reunion slip in the scrapbook).
    The postcards show various sites in the US and England.
    The church service cards show the taking of sacrifice by Mrs. Julia Long.
    The magazine clippings include everything from movies, art, Disney, Native American imagery, celebrities, and more.
