The Katharine Hepburn papers span the years 1907-2000 (bulk 1928-2000) and encompass approximately 121
linear feet. The collection consists of scripts, clippings, and production material for Hepburn's film,
television, and to a lesser extent, her stage career. There is also extensive correspondence. The
photograph series consists of albums and prints of motion picture production and biography
photographs.
Background
Katharine Hepburn was an American actress active from 1932 to 1994. She was nominated for twelve
Academy Awards, receiving four best actress awards for MORNING GLORY (1933), GUESS WHO'S COMING TO DINNER
(1967), THE LION IN WINTER (1968), and ON GOLDEN POND (1981).
