Abstract: The mission of Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) “is to build on a foundation of loving families
united with LGBTQ people and allies who support one another, and to educate ourselves and our communities to speak up as advocates
until all hearts and minds respect, value and affirm LGBTQ people.” The PFLAG San Francisco records include project and administrative
files, photographs, banners, signs, posters, audiovisual material, board records, material related to Sam Thoron and Julia
Thoron, and conference and convention materials.

Scope and Content of Collection
The PFLAG San Francisco records date from circa 1990 to 2014. The collection includes project and administrative files from
Sam and Julia Thoron, who were longtime leaders within PFLAG San Francisco and PFLAG National, photographs, cassette tapes
and disks, board records, research materials, newsletters, ephemera, and conference materials, most notably from the 1994
