Biography / Administrative History

Randi J. Walker, Ronald Soucey Professor of Transcendental Christianity, Professor of Church History, and Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program, retired in June 2018 after 25 Years at Pacific School of Religion. Her education includes BUS, University of New Mexico, 1974; MA, School of Theology at Claremont, 1978; MDiv, School of Theology at Claremont, 1982; and PhD, Claremont Graduate School, 1983.
Among her publications are Religion and the Public Conscience: Ecumenical Civil Rights Efforts in Seattle 1940-1960, Circle Books, 2012; History as a Mirror, with Kyu Hong Yeon, Hanshin Theological Seminary Press, 2011; Emma Newman, A Frontier Woman Minister, Syracuse University Press, 2000; "California and the Pacific Rim Region," in The Encyclopedia of Religion in America, edited by Charles Lippy and Peter Williams, CQ Press, 2010; "The Continuing Influence of Region on American Religious Life," in Faith in America: Changes, Challenges, New Directions vol. 1; "Organized Religion Today," edited by Charles Lippy, Praeger, 2006; Evolution of a UCC Style: Essays in the History and Ecclesiology of the United Church of Christ, United Church Press, 2005; and Protestantism in the Sangre de Cristos, University of New Mexico Press, 1991.
