    Administrative History

    El Estudio Video Roque González de Santa Cruz was founded in 1989 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The Jesuit production company has produced a series of cultural documentaries about Jesuit heritage and missions in Argentina, Paraguary, Uruguay, southern Brazil, eastern Bolivia and Chile.

    Biography

    Father Dorian Llywelyn, S.J. is Associate Professor of Theological Studies and Director of Catholic Studies at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California. Father Llywelyn teaches in the area of Christian Spirituality, specializing in Catholic faith and culture. He is the author of Sacred Place, Chosen People: Land and Nationality in Welsh Spirituality and Toward a Catholic Theology of Nationality. Father Llywelyn is a native of Wales. He has lived and worked in Wales, England, France, Spain, Egypt, Indonesia and the United States.

    Scope and Content of Collection

    The Father Dorian Llywelyn, S.J., Collection of Jesuit Mission DVDs contains nine Spanish-language documentaries. The documentaries were produced by Jesuit production company El Estudio de Video Roque González de Santa Cruz between 2005 and 2011. Not widely available in the U.S., these documentaries offer unique views of Jesuit heritage, with particular focus on missions, in South America.
    The DVDs were a gift to Father Dorian Llywelyn from the Estudio de Video Roque González de Santa Cruz.
