Biographical Note
Sandra Farha was born in Larned, Kansas on September 16, 1936. She became an activist for women's rights in the early 1970s.
She continued her work for pay and job equality, reproductive rights and political power for women in the 1980s and, in 1983,
she became the California State Coordinator for the National Organization for Women (NOW). She maintained her involvement
in state and national politics throughout her life, supporting the campaigns of numerous women and minority candidates. Farha
died in May of 2015.
