Scope and Content of Collection
The Harbor Community Development Corporation, Wilmington Newsletter Collection documents publicly funded programs and projects,
recreation and sporting events, and issues relevant to businesses and residents in the Wilmington, California area. The collection
is arranged into two series:, Series I, Administrative Records 1979-1980), and Series II, Wilmington Newsletter (1979-1981).
Series I: Administrative Records (1979-1980) primarily consists of photographic negatives, proof sheets, and prints related
to articles published in the Wilmington Newsletter. The series also includes a small amount of material related to issue layouts
and staff events. Content focuses on important events, people, and locations in the city of Wilmington. It is arranged alphabetically
by subject.
Series II: Wilmington Newsletter (ca. 1979-1981) consists of newsletter issues, many of which are undated. The Newsletter
documents a variety of programs, projects, and resources available to the Wilmington community, including: resources for seniors
and the other-abled, employment programs and opportunities, affordable housing and home repair programs, educational opportunities,
consumer and financial resources, public transportation, community based and local schools sports teams, and the activities
of local political figures and important public personalities. This series is arranged by volume and number.
