for publication is given on behalf of the San Francisco Public Library as the owner of the physical items.

Biographical / Historical
The
Women of the Resistance
mural in Balmy Alley, San Francisco, "was completed in 2018 under the leadership of Lucia Ippolito and Michelle Williams with
many contributing artists including Adrianna Adams and Fernanda Parker." The San Francisco Poster Syndicate and the mural
artists collaborated to produce this portfolio. The "project pays respect to all revolutionaries, but highlights this group
of women who are powerful beacons of hope during these dark times" quoted from the colophon.
Scope and Contents
The portfolio complements the mural by creating screenprints of the 38 women who are portrayed in the mural. Prints are by
numerous artists and designers, including mural directors Lucia Ippolito and Michelle Williams and San Francisco Poster Syndicate
founder Art Hazelwood. Printers include the San Francisco Poster Syndicate and Sun Night Editions (Oakland).

Arranged according to mural legend adhered to portfolio box cover.

Limited edition of 20. San Francisco Public Library set is numbered 18/20.
Title and date on colophon sheet adhered to inside base of portfolio box. Label on outside of box: Women of the resistance.
The screenprints were printed on Cougar Natural Smooth 100# Cover paper. Portfolio designed and built by Samantha Companatico
and Asa Nakata.
