Description
Portraits of contemporary activists represented in the mural Women of the Resistance in San Francisco's Balmy Alley.
Background
The Women of the Resistance mural in Balmy Alley, San Francisco, "was completed in 2018 under the leadership of Lucia Ippolito and Michelle Williams with many contributing artists including Adrianna Adams and Fernanda Parker." The San Francisco Poster Syndicate and the mural artists collaborated to produce this portfolio. The "project pays respect to all revolutionaries, but highlights this group of women who are powerful beacons of hope during these dark times" quoted from the colophon.

Restrictions
All requests for permission to publish or quote from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the City Archivist. Permission for publication is given on behalf of the San Francisco Public Library as the owner of the physical items.

The collection is available for use during San Francisco History Center hours, with photographs available during Photo Desk hours. Collections that are stored offsite should be requested 48 hours in advance.
