The A.L. and May Harris Arizona Papers contain legal and financial documents related to land transactions in Arizona and Los
Angeles, California. There is also a report on the Paradise-Verde Irrigation Project written by A.L. Harris.
A.L. Harris was a civil engineer who worked on the Salt River Project in Phoenix, Arizona beginning in 1903 May. Harris opened
his own engineering office in Phoenix before moving to Los Angeles, California in 1915. He designed the reinforced concrete
pier at Manhattan Beach, California. He married May Alderman, daughter of Louise Alderman, on 1911 December 25.
