Documents related to the career of Robert Kellner, including manuscripts, correspondence and research project files.
Background
Robert Kellner , M.D., Ph.D. (1922-1992) was born and raised in Czechoslovakia, received his medical education in England, and spent his later years in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He developed specific rating scales (Symptom Rating Test; Symptom Questionnaire; Brief Depression Rating Scale; and Illness Attitude Scales) based on the psychometric property of "sensitivity" (ability of a test to discriminate between the effects of two treatments). Kellner's research and publiations included work on hypochondriasis; psychotherapeutic strategies in psychophysiological disorders; and and the treatment of somatization and abnormal illness behavior.
