The Music Teachers' Association of California, Sacramento County Branch, was founded in 1912. The organization is part of the larger Music Teachers' Association of California, which was founded in 1897 in San Francisco. The organization advocates for quality music education, advances the music teacher profession, and holds student recitals and teacher education programs.

Acquisition information:
The collection consists of several donations made to CSH by the Music Teachers' Association of California, Sacramento County Branch, in 1983, 1987, 1988, 1990, 1998, 2002, 2003, and 2022 (accession numbers 1983/193, 1987/067, 1988/042, 1990/025, 1998/074, 2002/013, 2003/096, and 2022/049).
