Biographical / Historical

L.B. "Doc" Merman (1900-1979) was an American film and television production manager and producer. Merman is best known for his work on Cleopatra (1963), The Mad Empress (1939), Big Town (1955), The O. Henry Playhouse (1957), and The Betty Hutton Show (1959).

Scope and Contents

Collection consists of photographs and correspondence belonging to production manager and producer Doc Merman (1900-1979). Materials include framed photographs of Merman with various production departments, unframed behind the scenes photographs, and personal and business correspondence.
